Set in a beautiful rural community of 6 private acres, Fado House offers the perfect escape for a peaceful and relaxing vacation, with easy access to Dublin and several other major towns and cities. Surrounded by fields with grazing horses, the property is approached by a tree lined gravel driveway with ample parking. Attention to detail and custom built character pieces are plentiful at Fado such as wood ceiling beams, custom hand made stairs, & stunning furniture. Overall Fado House represents an attractive traditional style country home comprising some 4,628 square feet or 430 square metres of accommodation with the benefit of modern construction and incorporating efficient insulation and heating systems, including underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, to allow contemporary living within a period character. BER C3 (Building Energy Rating). All guests that stay at Fado will have full access to all rooms of the house including the entire ground floor and second floor. The only thing that we ask our guests to respect are the two locked closets for personal items, in two of the bedrooms. There is plenty of closet space otherwise. Additionally, for the safety of the guests, access to the shed and boiler room are prohibited. In the library, you may browse and read through any of the books on the shelves. However, we ask that you do not permanently remove any books from the house as they are our personal belongings. The moment that you book to stay with us at Fado, you will receive a detailed and informative guidebook, complete with all of the areas local attractions, locations of the nearest bus or train stations, grocery stores, pubs, and more. Within walking distance of the house, there are a few attractions that are a must for guests staying at Fado looking for the full experience. Roches, Ballagh, Donadea Forest, and Wallaby Woods. Walking: There aren't many walkable attractions near Fado, but the surrounding countryside can be particularly tranquil as a result. Luckily there are two pubs (Roaches and Ballagh), and two nature parks (Donnadea Forest and Wallaby Woods) within a mile of the house and can be easily reached by foot. Driving: By car, all of Ireland's 32 counties can be reached from Fado within 2 hours. One of Ireland's major motorways, the M4, is just minutes away from Fado, and can get you into the center of Dublin in 30 minutes. Bussing: The town of Maynooth is just minutes (8 miles) away from the house by car, and offers affordable bus services that travel all over Ireland. Parking: Fado has ample parking on premisis. The aga oven heats the floor of the kitchen as well as other areas on the main floor. Fado's insulation is the best of its kind, with six foot thick stone walls and double layered custom insulation material in all non-stone walls, sure to keep guests warm in the colder months of the year. There is now an electric vehicle charging station at Fado, available for all guests who are driving electric vehicles. Details on usage are available upon request.
